Being a business owner or top-level executive can be a very lonely place. Everybody is counting on you. There is almost a sense that you have this great big book of answers for all that is happening right now or could potentially happen in the future.
There are so many demands on your time.
You may feel like it’s impossible to spend quality time on the things that matter most. In fact, what matters most, may not even be clear anymore because you feel pulled or drawn in so many directions.
Sometimes you wonder if you may actually be restricting progress.
Worse, it’s not as fun as it used to be.
Perhaps, not long ago, the vision and goals of the company were crystal clear and the whole team was completely energized. You've since blown those goals out of the water, and now it seems that most of the team has varying perspectives on where you are going next, and the team’s efforts don’t seem anywhere near as effective.
Maybe team dynamics which were once so good you never had to think about them, are suddenly a huge drag on your time. You spend more time managing conflict and connections than driving the business forward.
You may be faced with really good, but very challenging realities where there are more opportunities to chase or develop that you have people or resources to deploy. Consequently, there is a real risk that unless you decide where to double down, you may not win any of them or worse, lose what you have.
And you can’t bring any of this home with you. First, there just isn’t enough time to fully explain the full context of the topics, nor do you want to burden them with your work stress. But the funny thing is, not talking about it seems to keep the stress high.
I work with executives to help lift them up and over the daily demands of business and liberate their ability to see the big picture again. Then help establish situational awareness, clarify goals, map action plans, and drive accountability. Along the way, serve as confidential and safe place to test and challenge ideas.
Executive coaching is a secret weapon to drive
Uncommon Achievements
As an added service for our Executive Coaching clients, I have an inventory of proven tools (and can offer training) which can be used to help gain clarity and conviction for action. Engagements vary in length, but 6-12 months is common. See questions below to see if they align with a need:
· Do you have a crystal clear strategic focal point?
· Do you have a confident understanding of what customers and products are generating the most profit?
Or have the most potential?
· Are you “lights out good” at producing these products and serving these most important customers?
· Are your teams seemingly overwhelmed with tasks and complexity that aren't adding value?
· Are you struggling to maintain or foster competitive differentiation?
· Do you have the conviction to make the necessary changes to gain a disproportionate share of profitable growth?
· Is your team motivated and capable of making it happen?
Do any of these questions describe situations your business is facing?
